Amazing Scotland I don’t usually write reviews, but Stephen deserves every word.

Our family spent three days touring Scotland with him, and it’s no exaggeration to say he made our trip extraordinary. From the moment he greeted us, he treated us not like clients, but like family — with genuine warmth, patience, and a level of care that is becoming rarer.

What meant the most to me personally was how he cared for our daughter, Jaya. She’ll be studying abroad at the University of Stirling this fall, which is why we made Sterling one of our days, and he made her feel at home there. He even offered to be her emergency contact while she’s in Scotland! Humanity does exist! As a mother, that gesture meant more than I can express. It wasn’t something he had to do. It wasn’t part of any tour. It was simply who he is.

We’ve traveled extensively, and we’ve had wonderful guides, but Stephen is in a category of his own. Roslyn Chapel, Coos and Glencoe! I had a fantastic day trip with Stephen Maloney recently. My best friend and I wanted to do a little 'highlights' of the highlands with very limited time, and Stephen did not disappoint. First, we went ot see Roslyn Chapel, which is so stunningly beautiful. We then went and had some fun with hairy coos, feeding them carrots (a must-do with kids!!), and then we had a fantastic pub lunch and a drive out to Glencoe. Stephen is so warm and personable and makes the trip feel like you're just cruising around, having a laugh with your new Scottish best friend. I cannot recommend this company enough. Customizable highlights of Edinburgh We had a brief time to spend in Edinburgh and a family member with limited mobility. We wanted to see the highlights in minimal time with minimal to no walking. We did a 2 hour private tour, and it was perfect! Stephen was comical and gracious. He was flexible with stops and time we wanted to spend at each place. Obviously, longer stops means fewer stops and vice versa. If we ever go back, we will book Stephen for anything we can! He knew all the tricks for getting us in tight spots that we definitely couldn’t/wouldn’t have navigated in our own car. This was easily one of the highlights of our visit to Scotland!

We couldn’t be happier with our decision to book with Edinburgh Cab Tours during our stop in Scotland! Our driver and guide, Steven, was phenomenal from start to finish throughout our 9-hour tour. He was incredibly in tune with exactly what we wanted our day to be, remaining flexible and pacing everything perfectly to suit us. He was always willing to answer our questions about Scotland's culture and history, and he offered to take photos of us at all the best spots so we could fully capture the memories.
We started our day with a visit to Stirling Castle, where Steven shared his knowledge of the fortress. Next, he took us to see the legendary Highland coos, and getting to actually hand-feed them was so fun! For lunch, Steven brought us to a fantastic local pub, the Westerton Arms, where we enjoyed an amazing meal. We wrapped up our day back in the city, exploring and doing some shopping along the historic Royal Mile. He even treated us to a much-appreciated coffee stop at the end of the day before dropping us back off directly at our ship. Having such a customizable, stress-free experience in the comfort of a private cab felt like exploring with a lifelong friend. If you book a tour, definitely ask for Steven!

Edinburgh

We spent a full day with Stephen and it was amazing. He met us right at the cruise ship dock in South Queensferry with a smile and some sarcastic jokes which we knew meant a fun day was ahead.

We headed to Sterling castle and he gave us a great tour in the places he was allowed to go without getting drawn and quartered for breaking their rules. We then headed to see some Highland cows for some photos. Then we headed to lunch at Westerton Arms which was delightful. Then we hit the Royal mile for some Whiskey purchases/tastings and other shopping activity.

Finally we headed above town to get some fantastic views of the area near Edinburgh’s disgrace on Carlton’s hill. Before grabbing some coffee and heading back to the ship.

This truly was a wonderful day in no small part due to Stephen’s wit ( or lack there of ). He was a joy to be around making us all laugh all day. Keeping us engaged with his knowledge of where he lives. I highly recommend you allow him to show you around when in the area.
