This is the perfect tour for visitors who want to learn more about Edinburgh’s royal connections, including time to tour inside Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyrood House. As well as visiting the Castle and the Palace, your driver-guide will take you on a journey down the Royal Mile which connects these two most iconic royal residences. Other locations that will be included in your tour are:

  • This tour includes entry to Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyrood House. Please note that entry to Edinburgh Castle may not be possible if the tour is booked at short notice (i.e. less than 48 hours).
  • If there is no availability to visit inside Edinburgh Castle, we can arrange for entry to the Royal Yacht Britannia.
  • Tours run all year round except in August. Please check our calendar for availability. Pick-ups and drop-offs are made at all hotels and guesthouses within the city centre. Multiple pick-ups are not available.
  • Shore excursion tours from South Queensferry Cruise Terminal, Leith Terminal, Newhaven Terminal and Rosyth Terminal are all included in the above price. This tour is only available if visitors have adequate time between disembarkation and latest embarkation back at the port.
  • A maximum of 6 people can be carried in the Caledonian vehicle and 7 in the Balmoral.
  • The Caledonian vehicle is wheelchair accessible to all manual wheelchairs. However, this will restrict space to 4 other passengers.
  • Children must be accompanied by their parents or an appropriate adult.
  • Your driver will be nearby to pick you up after visiting inside Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyrood House.
