Balmoral Castle & Highlands Tour - 10 hours (approx)
On this tour we will take you to Balmoral Castle which sits in the very heart of Royal Deeside. Balmoral castle is the private residence of the Royal family and sits in the most beautiful of grounds. Thanks to Queen Victoria’s love of the Scottish Highlands, her husband Prince Albert sought out the perfect location for their “home away from home.” Let us take you there and allow you to walk in the footsteps of generations of our Royal Family. To get there we will drive through the Cairngorms National Park which arguably rivals the beauty of Glencoe or the Cuillin Mountains of the Isle of Skye.
Having soaked up the beauty and tranquility of Balmoral, we will have time to recharge the batteries over lunch in nearby Braemar. This really is a quaint little village and we are spoilt for our lunch choice at either the world-renowned Fife Arms or Farquharson’s Restaurant.
After a hearty lunch we will next head to the Queens View. Breathtaking views out over Loch Tummel, Schiehallion mountain and the Glencoe mountains will make you fall in love with Highlands. It truly is a place to stop for a moment and take in the absolute delight that Mother Nature has placed before us.
Our next stop is Pitlochry. A Victorian spa town which flourished in the nineteenth century and is a pretty weekend destination for staycations and vacations. It’s a lovely town to walk about and enjoy the shops and pubs and restaurants. If you like whisky we can stop at the marvellous Blair Atholl whisky bar for a tasting of their finest single-malts.
After our stop at Pitlochry, just sit back and relax as we make our picturesque return to Edinburgh.

Walk in the steps of Royalty at Balmoral Castle on Royal Deeside. On this tour you will be able to spend time at Balmoral Castle grounds followed by stops at nearby Braemar, Pitlochry, the Queen's View. While at Pitlochry, for those whisky coinnoisseurs amongst you, we can introduce you to a whisky tasting at the Blair Atholl Distillery. - Tours run all year round, unless shown as unavailable on the booking calendar.
- Balmoral Castle and grounds can be closed whilst the Royal Family are in residence. Check when booking if the Castle and grounds will be open
- Pick-ups and drop-offs are made at all hotels and guesthouses within the city centre. Multiple pick-ups are not available.
- This tour is not suitable for passengers from cruise ships due to the limited time in port.
